Happy Hens currently save 20 acres
of farmland per year
by dining on leftovers
instead of commercial chicken feed.

I’m Growing

Little turkey.
Two weeks old, Growing
so fast.  Not yet
the size of a corncob.

Tractor at Work

2500 cherry trees – all cut down
making way for chickens,
now we’re piling them up,
envisioning Hugel piles.

Hugel – German word for pile
Curious minds found these brush piles
made a great base
for growing veggies.

So nice
to have a blue tractor.

Guests

Our neighbor brings friends
to see the chickens,
help harvest eggs,
buy some for home.

“Have you seen asparagus?”
They walk to our 600 plants,
see asparagus shoots, first time,
growing from earth.
