Baby Chicks are One Month Old

Opening Doors to Chickens

Doors keep opening

since I first got chickens.

I keep walking through them.

Spiritual experiences.

At the same time writing

The River of Life,

local stores invited us

to provide them with eggs.

What might it be like,

to raise chickens as a business,

as a spiritual experience of trust,

of living The River of Life?

Doors keep opening,

more doors and more space

than I can accomplish alone,

I keep walking through them.

Baby chicks start laying in July

and double our egg production

We’ll double it one more time.

Through the door of a full size farm.

Feeding food scraps to 3000 hens

We free up 90 acres of farmland

to grow people food instead of chicken feed

Through the door of solving food waste.

Trainees learning this model,

multiplying the food waste solution,

getting better eggs to more people

Through the door of giving back.

Sharing this vision – inviting participation

fully engaged but non-attached,

mingling with fear, and hope.

Through another door, new, unknown.

Come to the farm. Manson, Washington

Come to the website.  ManySpokes.com

Come to the GoFundMe and open new space

Who has their hand on this same door,

the one that opens

to the building of the beautiful world?

Let’s meet there.

I’ll make omelettes.

We’ll listen to the roosters,

See the sun rise. Glory

in the warmth of a just-laid egg.
