Jim Bodeen Visit

Poet Jim Bodeen,
hearing I have chickens,
and hearing I want to train interns:
“I’ll come and make a movie for you.”

For 24 full hours we spoke
of ICE and Memory Reconsolidation,
the Happy Hens and eggs,
our planet and eliminating food waste.

Five videos and two poems later,
I see how Jim
saw me better than I see myself,
seeking “that one un-repeatable note.”

DRAWDOWN – Food Waste

Recently, sharing the Happy Hens story with friends, they told me that of the top eighty most effective actions to lower atmospheric CO2 and make a more sustainable planet – SOLVING FOOD WASTE IS THIRD.

Revelation:
I collect a pickup bed of leftovers for our chickens EVERY SINGLE day, so I”m deeply aware of food waste and the importance or solving this issue.  But the 3rd most effective action on a global scale?  Reducing food waste? I had no idea.
